Governor plug failures are often caused by oil and dirt from normal engine operation, strong cleansers and high-pressure water and steam used for engine cleaning; all which can penetrate governor plugs and cause the connectors to short out. Wabtec governor plug protectors:

  • Provide a water-tight seal
  • Protect the plug from penetration by disruptive elements
  • Help support the cable to relieve stress on the plug connection
  • Are easily installed in the field using the installation tool without removing the plug from the cable
