Wabtec cleats feature a specially designed, dense rubber compound that prevents water and oil saturation and is dielectric providing complete insulation from cable to frame.
Wooden cleats tend to crack and allow moisture to penetrate though to cable. Most existing rubber materials are not dieleletric and allow for current to pass from cable to frame.
Note: Fiberglass cleats also available by special request where increased rigidity is required.
