Locomotives and metro trains are critical to the efficient movement of freight and people every day. The experts at Wabtec’s Global Performance Optimization Center (GPOC) serve as “tele doctors” for railroad fleets by monitoring the health of approximately 18,000 locomotives worldwide, ensuring they are operating properly 24/7. The GPOC monitors large amounts of data each day from sensors on the locomotives and prescribes actions, or Rxs, for a railroad operator to address a condition before it becomes an issue. This service enables railroads to increase the reliability and availability of their locomotive fleets and maintain revenue service.
Take a behind-the-scenes look at the GPOC in action.
