Building on a legacy of rail industry firsts, at Wabtec, innovation is our calling card. At InnoTrans 2024, you’ll see the scale of solutions Wabtec offers in both the Transit and Freight rail segments. We are showcasing offerings that align with four key pillars – Sustainability, Safety, Performance, and the Passenger Experience. But beyond that, we would love to provide you with a glimpse “under-the-hood” of some very exciting technologies our Advanced Technology Group has been working on. These looming solutions spring to life at the intersection of maturing and emerging technologies, changing workforce expectations, and advancing regulatory requirements.
We are expanding the application of intelligent vision systems across the transportation ecosystem. We are developing groundbreaking, semi-autonomous robotic sleds to improve safety and efficiency in rail yards. We are building an innovative enabler for a safe transition to the airless train. We are training the next generation of AI enabled technical support. We are contemporizing work environments through remote monitoring and control solutions. And we are expanding into truck-like service quality on rail, with our Advanced Vehicles Program.

Sustainability
The most modular, lightweight, easy-to-maintain disc brake station for all types of pneumatic braking applications.
Wabtec's innovative line of friction solutions utilize a range of materials that are designed to eliminate fine particles during braking.
Our innovative wear detection system optimizes carbon strip usage, helps to elimiate material waste, and replacement downtime. The winter strip current collector protects against damage caused by arcing.
The ideal natural refrigerant solution, Wabtec's Green Air Solution are HVAC units using R290 refrigerant is an environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic refrigerant solutions.
A 220kW generator built into turbocharger to power traction motor #3 and reduce fuel consumption on High Pressure Common Rail EVO engines.

Passenger Experience
The high definition iSmart Ceiling Display is the perfect companion for rich travel information. Its remarkably thin design provides an impression of lightness while being extremely robust.
A great replacement for conventional reservation, ceiling, and partition displays in coaches. Its location under the luggage rack provides passengers with easy access to all trip information.
The fine pitch of Wabtec’s Full Color LED display is the perfect companion for rich travel information outdoors in access doors, side of cars, behind windows, front of trains, or even indoor.
Performance
Our suite of UIC freight components is helping to drive Europe's shift to rail. Solutions include our Digital Automatic Coupler, DRV10 Slack Adjuster, and Wagon Central Control Unit.
Our multi-purpose front Automatic Couplers are available with pneumatics and an electric or latch=type coupler heads. They feature a modular, flexible design optimized for space efficiency based on patented crash management technology, resulting in reduced lifecycle costs through standardization and long overhaul periods.
A modular and configurable brake control system for locomotives based on a distributed electronic architecture
Lightweight, quiet, high-reslience to extreme mainteance-free reciprocating compressor. The Buran product family features a full suite of references covering all passenger trains

Our new "Lock and Load" feture is a first-of-its-kind, clicking solution for carbon strip replacement, dramatically reducing the time required for carbon strip replacement from 30 minutes down to just 2 minutes per strip.
