RIO DE JANEIRO and PITTSBURGH, Feb 21, 2024 - MRS Logística (MRSA-MB) and Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) announced an agreement for 30 new Evolution Series locomotives. The deal is valued at approximately R$500 million with the first deliveries scheduled for 2024. The purchase is part of MRS’s railway fleet renewal strategy and reinforces the almost 30-year relationship between the two companies.

ERIE, PA Oct. 31, 2023 – Wabtec and its launch customer, Roy Hill, a leading iron ore miner majority owned by Australia’s most successful private company, Hancock Prospecting, have celebrated the debut of the FLXdrive battery locomotive, the world’s first 100% battery-powered, heavy-haul locomotive for mainline service. The deal includes an order for three of Wabtec’s FLXdrive battery locomotives and a collaboration to test ammonia as a potential clean, alternative fuel to replace diesel.

PITTSBURGH, June 27, 2023 — Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) announced today its largest certified pre-owned locomotive order from six Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (G&W) subsidiaries – Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad; Chicago, Ft. Wayne & Eastern Railroad; Connecticut Southern Railroad; Indiana & Ohio Railway; New England Central Railroad and Providence and Worcester Railroad.

VLI – a logistics solutions company that operates ports, railways and terminals –signed a contract today for nine Wabtec Evolution Series locomotives (ES43BBI model), which will join the company's premium fleet for the transport of cargo on the Ferrovia Centro-Atlântica (FCA ). The order, valued at approximately R$200 million, represents another investment by VLI in the national rolling stock industry. The first locomotives are expected to be delivered in about 18 months.

PATNA, India February 20, 2023 — Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) celebrated the delivery of the 500th Evolution Series Locomotive to Indian Railways. The celebration at Wabtec’s plant in Marhowra, Bihar marked another milestone in the 2015 $2.5 billion agreement as part of the Government of India’s Public Private Partnership ‘Make in India’ program to develop and supply 1,000 fuel-efficient, emission-compliant diesel-electric Evolution Series locomotives.

Wabtec Corporation has announced an agreement to modernise locomotives for Fortescue Metals Group (Fortescue), representing Wabtec’s delivery of the first fleet of modernised locomotives for an Australian customer.

Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) is introducing a new locomotive model to Brazil’s freight rail market with deliveries to Suzano, MRS and Rumo in late March and early April. Union Pacific Railroad (NYSE: UP) will begin using a higher biodiesel blend in locomotives it acquired from Wabtec (NYSE: WAB). The new collaboration helps Union Pacific as it works to increase the percentage of low-carbon fuels consumed to 10% of its total diesel consumption by 2025 and 20% by 2030.

PITTSBURGH, January 10, 2022 — Wabtec Corporation (NYSE: WAB) and Rio Tinto announced today an order for four FLXdrive battery-electric locomotives to support sustainable operations of the mining company’s rail network in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The 100-percent, battery-powered locomotive will help Rio Tinto’s effort to achieve a 50-percent reduction in Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 2030.

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 8, 2021 — Wabtec (NYSE: WAB) signed today contracts with Egyptian National Railways (ENR) to supply 100 ES30ACi Evolution Series Locomotives, as well as a multi-year service agreement to maintain the fleet. The agreement supports ENR’s continued modernization effort by providing the latest, fuel-efficient locomotives needed for the growing demands on Egypt’s rail infrastructure. The locomotive supply contract is funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
