Wabtec’s Bids for Kids 2020 Event Raises $173,000 for Local Charities

  • The event has raised more than $2.1 million over the fundraiser’s history
  • Funds go to local Boys & Girls Club, Make-A-Wish and Shriners Hospitals for Children

ERIE, PA (June 24, 2020) — Wabtec (NYSE: WAB) presented checks today to local charities totaling $173,000 from a successful 2020 Bids for Kids fundraiser. The funds support important community programs at Erie’s Boys & Girls Club, Make-A-Wish and Shriners Hospitals for Children.

“Bids for Kids is a long-standing program providing vital support to critical local organizations, especially in these challenging times,” said Jim Meyer, General Manager of Propulsion Engineering for Wabtec.  “I am pleased with how this annual fundraiser has grown and continues to evolve. The success of this event is a tribute to our employees, local individuals, businesses and sponsors.”

Since Bids for Kids began in 1995, the annual event has raised over $2.1 million for local charities, roughly half of which was raised over the last three years.
